Hi. I just purchased a laptop from the Dell outlet, dells own ‘factory shop’ through which they sell stuff with cosmetic imperfections. The bit of research before I paid for it told me that from the Inspiron 15R name it should be good. But I decided to do a bit of post purchase research to properly find out what I had got. This turned up a problem, I can’t find another laptop like mine anywhere, not even on dells website. Can you help me work out what I have got?
The laptop I got is described as an “Inspiron 15R – N5010″, which led me to believe it is an Inspiron 15R as seen here: http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-r/pd
But that laptop does not have anywhere near the same specification as mine, in fact the graphics on that is nVidia whilst on mine it is ATI.
The picture of my laptop matches the picture of the Inspiron 15, but yet again the specs are completely different. http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-n5030/pd

A quick google got me a bit closer. PCWorld sell something similar, but it has a lower spec graphics card, less RAM and looks different http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/dell-inspiron-n5010-black-laptop-08702322-pdt.html

Nah, close but no cigar. different amounts of RAM, different CPU, completely different graphics and a smaller hard drive.

Yeah. I tried customising the dell laptops I mentioned on their website, but could not get the same thing.

Do you recon I am getting something more like the 15 or 15R ?
Hmm. None of the suggestions really match. Looks like it will be a 15R with a slightly odd spec. Only cost £430.

It doesnt matter what brand. It has to be red. Screen size bigger than 13 in. Plays cds and dvds. It has good memory and space. It has to be a decent price. I am not employed. It could be a laptop or netbook.

I am a sixteen year old high school junior saving up money for my first laptop and I would like to get wifi put in my house as well. I would like to spend between 6 to 8 hundred dollars on a laptop I can use for schoolwork and to put music on through itunes. Any suggestions on laptop deals or the cheapest way to put wifi at my house when we already have Verizon Highspeed Internet?

My laptop is 17″ (I know, big) but it’s been really hard to find a sleeve for it. I just want something to protect it when it’s in my backpack when I go to classes cause I’m in school now and need it all the time!!

Incase makes a good one. They say it is for a MAC, but normal 17in laptops should fit. Just be sure to check the dimensions. They have a few different colors to choose from…

I bought one 5 years ago, and it is still in great shape.

My daughter loves animals, so I would really like an animal print or design. I found one that is tiger eyes, but am having trouble finding if for 15.6″ laptop.

You could always get her one of those she likes for the aesthetics then a simple but sturdy protective case to protect the whole thing.

I bought this belkin unit cooling fan stand 3 months ago and it worked fine for the first month and a half. Eventually, the legs broke off off and it started making noise. So i had to open the whole thing up and clean the fan, until one of the fan pieces broke off. Does anyone know if there’s a good laptop cooling unit stand that’s $ 40 or below and 17-inches?
