Question by Chloe loves LA: What is the best laptop computer to buy?
I am starting college in a couple months and I need to buy a new laptop computer; however, I am not sure which is the best to buy. I will need it to write reports and work on projects. I also plan to take a lot of multimedia and film studies classes that will require me to make and burn my own DVD’s so it needs to be able to do that. I currently have a sony vaio but i need a better one for college. Please help, Thanks!

I’ve always preferred Toshiba for laptops!

But you may want to look into Mac’s for multimedia. I’ve never owned one, so I cant say about those.

I was talking to my friend 2 week’s ago and i was asking him what kind of computer should i get and he said a mini laptop,but here’s my question in your opinion what’s the best mini laptop you recommend to buy to play maplestory on? (It doesn’t have to be THE best but just like a good mini laptop to play maplestory on)

Hello there mate,

Ah yes! The crucial time many of us experience when going to buy that highly anticipated new computer!

I’ll be brief and to the point on this one. I would highly recommend you don’t buy one of those mini laptops. Why? Well, because they’re not meant for gaming. Although Maple Story is indeed a very old game and requires extremely low graphics and RAM, I would still recommend you go with a normal laptop, normal size with 3GB of RAM and a dual core processor.

The truth is even if you could find a mini laptop with this capability, the damn things are faulty. They may be sleeker and look better, but they won’t last as long. Go with a cheapie normal size (15″) laptop, and I promise you – you won’t regret it in the end.

it would have to be www.technoinfo.biz i had heard of them from AMD and Intel, just send him what products you will want in your computer or how much you would like to spend and he will send you a cheep quote. my computer was coming out to be around $ 899.99 he made the same computer with more upgrades with the same components i would have got with Dell, and HP.

I have a HP HSTNN-CB72 laptop that I bought over a year ago. I’ve searched on the net and not been able to find batteries that I can buy to put in my laptop.
Anybody know if I can buy a new battery and from where (in the UK)

As your laptop is fairly new, you should be able to get a replacement one quite easy, I would stay clear from cheap ones you might find on ebay or similar, as loads are imports from china and therefore might not be genuine and my not be safe, have heard of stories of cheap ones over heating and catching fire.
PC World or curries are a good start, or go onto HP website, they might have online shop or certainly they will advise where you should be able to buy one.

I’m planning on purchasing a cheap laptop off of Tiger Direct but I’m not sure which brand would be best. I do web and graphic design so I need a lot of space and memory for my programs such as photoshop. But I also play games such as The Sims and WoW. Whay do you suggest would be a good laptop to fit my needs?
I have about $ 400-$ 500 to spend.
