Well those who are very good with computers pick mac instead of PC, I am not that good with computers so is a mac still ok with me or should I get a PC and which laptop PC is the best that is out there? plus i have heard that the new macs can work with windows xp is that still true? please help.

I am about to go to college and I am searching for a good laptop. There are so many options out there and it is hard to narrow down the best ones. So, what are the best laptops out there? Price is not really an issue, but beyond $ 1,600 might be too much. Oh, and I am not interested in a Mac :) . Thanks!

Hello,

Everybody will have their favorite.
Maintenance and usage will varied for each ownership.
Choose the one you like, that has the features that you want such as where the usb, hdmi and other user ports are located.
What might suite me, may not be the best for you.

The biggest factor in price is the GPU capability.
If you are not a big gamer, get one that does have a top end GPU since it isn’t a priority.
If you are a gamer, then you better get one with the best GPU that you can afford.

Usually better with more memory/ram, unless you can install your own. Thats easier than change’n a tire.
Out side of that all spec’s will vary from AMD/Intel, amount of RAM and hard drive size.

In the end it is your laptop, not mine or anyone else’s.
So hold your purchase until you need it, since they release new models over time.

It is really hard to say because there is always new bits coming out so and different bits work better with different brands ect… Look up Crysis ultra high graphics HD ( you need the best gaming pc’s to play it) They are among the top pc’s like mine :D

I think Dell Studio will do. You can visit their site dell.co.in and order your laptop. The best thing about this is that, you can get customize your laptop. It will be delivered within 10working days( usually within 7). The cost of laptop is also less if you do this way.

If you are looking for HP, then Pavilion will be a good shoot

Question by : What is the best laptop to use for an architecture course?
I will be doing a BA in architecture starting September 2011 and want to know what the best laptop would be for this.
I’ve asked around and been told that the macbook pro is my best option because of software and speed etc.
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this and which laptop would be the better one.
I will be buying one in January so answers appreciated as soon as possible :)

A Macbook Pro would be best, but don’t feel pressured to get it if you can’t afford it. Any laptop really is fine, you don’t have to buy the best straight away as you’re just learning, all the software you’d need will be available on Mac or PC aswell.

The pro’s for using Mac are:

-Your university probably teaches on Mac and if you get a job in architecture they will all be using Mac
- They’re also better quality, speed and memory, but the downside is they’re expensive, even second hand
