The motherboard on my HP Pavilion laptop is dead. A friend suggested that I could possibly sell the parts. What is the best way to sell laptop parts? I paid about $ 1000 a little over 2yrs ago. I called the manufacturer, but my warranty has expired.
I am open to having it fixed, but I don’t know how to fix computers/laptops or know where to get another motherboard for it. I am not even sure if it would be worth my time to do it.

I’ll start with mine ; I bought a Sony VAIO vgn fe21s £1200 it pumps out a load of heat if you have lots of tabs open when on the net it struggles to keep hold of the wireless net when even my mates’ cheap advent laptop picks it up no probs,also It’s got loads of little probs like doesn’t see the disk drive, mouse pad tap works when it want and other things. I hate it and will be selling it soon for £300 quid when i have waded through the probs ,i have learned in my 1and half years of lap top ownership that spending more than 500quid is shear indulgence.

I have got a Macbook Pro. It cost me £1299. I am satisfied with it, it is very fast and preferable to Windows once you get used to it. The only downside is the cost.

I’m looking for a new laptop and would prefer that it operates windows. I have an HP right now and would never buy another one. I’ve heard that Lenovo Laptops are pretty good. Can anyone give me suggestions on this ? Also if you have a Lenovo or use one at work what do you think of it ?

A guy at my work used a Lenovo and it had some hardware hiccups. I would suggest a Dell or a Compaq, I have worked with both alot and have had minimal problems. As long as they are taken care of, they will last you.

I would like a new laptop on finance. I saw the one I wanted on PcWorld (The HP laptop which flips into a notebook with a touchscreen) – however the APR was 21.9!! The best loan I can see is 19.4APR. I want a nice laptop that I can pay about £20-£40 a month for around 2 years. Recommendations would be appreciated, or the best way to “work the system”. – Many thanks.
I have an &More card with debt on it and want to avoid taking out any more credit cards. The stores over here in Ireland don’t really have store cards in computer stores.

Find a store that sells them and get the store credit card and buy the laptop when they are offering interest free financing. I got 2 years interest free when I bought my TV.

I bought this belkin unit cooling fan stand 3 months ago and it worked fine for the first month and a half. Eventually, the legs broke off off and it started making noise. So i had to open the whole thing up and clean the fan, until one of the fan pieces broke off. Does anyone know if there’s a good laptop cooling unit stand that’s $ 40 or below and 17-inches?

I bought a new computer about a year ago and every few months the power cord would stop working (it short-circuits or something.). I’ve gone through 3 power cords already. The third one stopped working last night. I was told that the laptop battery was probably involved. So I’m wondering, what are some things I can do to extend the life of my laptop power cord and battery and in general how am I suppose to take care of the power cord and battery?

Do you wind your powercords up when you store them? Generally not a good idea because it causes the wires inside the cord to become twisted and will eventually fray and break.
Don’t wind the cords. Just do a simple figure 8 loop and use the velcro strap to hold it together.

NOooooo. Please don’t buy from them. Is a fraud. Prices are good but goods never come.
I paid for a TV $ 450, then they asked me for additional $ 180 for tax. I paid both and never heard from them again. I have been waiting for tracking number for more than a month and sending emails to them. They just do not answer. Until yesterday when they asked me for another $ 205 for more tax…
I keep calling and trying to contact them through the chat and they just do not answer.
I sent a formal complaint to the Chinese embassy in my country…I am waiting
